  • I don't think that Muslims pray to Mohammed but I could be mistaken, and Allah is the Arabic word for God and is not the same as a prophet.
  • I have no idea why your first 4 sentences would mean that people should pray to Jesus. I am missing the logical flow here. Also, Muslims do not pray to Mohammed, they pray to Allah. Allah is simply the Arabic word for "god". Muslims are strict monotheists and pray to no one except Allah. This is one of the five pillars of Islam. Translated into English, the Muslim call to prayer is thus: God is Great. God is Great. God is Great. God is Great. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except God. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except God. I testify that Muhammad is the messenger of God. I testify that Muhammad is the messenger of God. Come to prayer! Come to prayer! Come to success! Come to success! God is Great! God is Great! There is none worthy of worship except God. I think this would make it abundantly clear why they do not pray to Jesus, Mohammed, their cat, their dog, or anyone but Allah (their God). http://www.islam101.com/dawah/pillars.html
  • Like the other answers say, Muslims do not pray to prophets, only to Allah. But even aside from that, this makes no sense. Are you saying Jesus was a superior prophet simply because he did all of his prophecizing at an earlier age? Like, a prodigy or something? Ageism!! ;) By the logic of your statement, a Muslim would say that Jesus never got to be a proper prophet because he died before he reached the age of true prophecy. But I don't know how much age really has to do with anything, in Islamic tradition. It might even be the opposite, that you have to get to be old and grey before you're really wise, in which case your argument would be even less effective.
  • Muslims do not pray to anyone but Allah. Allah, by the way, is an Arabic word that, translated into English literally means: The God. (Al-lah.) Allah is the same God that all Abrahamic religions believe in. Mohammad was the final prophet of God, and the Qu'ran is the final "draft," so to speak, of God's word. I've studied Islam for 2 years. :)
  • Islam as a word in the dictionary has meanings of ‘peace’ and ‘being kept and delivered intact, undamaged’. The religion of Islam means submission to the will of God, the Creator of all. Now clearly all genuine prophets and messengers appointed by God would teach nothing other than submission to the will of God, the Creator, that is Islam. So Muslims believe that all prophets from Adam, through Abraham, Noah, Moses, Jesus to Mohammed and countless more in between (not just 140+), they all taught Islam. (Jesus taught people to say in their prayer to God “Thy will be done in earth” not anyone else’s will, Matthew 6:10 and he, Jesus, himself declared in his prayer to God “not my will, but thine, be done”, Luke 22:42) Muslims are required to believe in all the prophets of God including Jesus. They are required to declare “We make no distinction between any of His (God’s) messengers and they (the Muslims) say: We hear, and we obey. (Grant us) Thy forgiveness, our Lord. Unto Thee is the journeying.” This is enshrined in HQ 2:285. Muslims accept that Jesus had no biological father, but that does not make him divine. Adam had neither a biological father nor mother and nobody claims he was divine. You will now see that Muslims DO NOT PRAY TO MOHAMMED OR JESUS OR ANY OTHER PROPHET, he would be committing the greatest blasphemy if he prayed to any one of them or anyone else or anything else besides God, the Creator of all.
  • Wild guess here but could it be for the same reason that Christians don't pray to Mohammad?
  • Who were the other 138?
  • Prophet Jesus(pbuh) is said to have died in his 30s in the Bible, not the Qur'an. The latter is not too detailed on his life, but I have read somewhere that he lived on earth till the age of 40. We also do not pray to Prophet Muhammad(saw), we only pray to God.
  • We pray to Allah only.
  • I failed to seek out the logic in your question and the Muslims don't pray to Mohammad they pray to Allah. Mohammad is just a messenger like Jesus. It is given in Quran that you shouldn't pray either to Apostles, Saints or Prophet. My friend if you believe that we Muslims pray to Muhammad then your sadly mistaken. We only rank Mohammad higher than Jesus because what message Jesus brought us was only the fact that there is only one god and you should worship Him. But Holy Prophet (PBUH)brought us a complete and comprehensive religion that everyone has to follow.
  • If there is anything that is a certainty about Islam is that they worship ONLY Allah. No prayers involve any other being. No prophets are prayed to. There are no interceding like with Catholic saints. Your question is completely illogical.
  • God or Allah, we all beleave in one creator... correct me if i am wrong... And why would you say that all prophets became prophets only when they reached 40?? it is never mentioned in islam....
  • Jesus became a prophet in his thirties. Jesus did not die, but the lifting of the sky . Then he will return back Jesus will published peace and he will end the injustice. As for the Muslims they don't pray to Muhammad , but they just pray to God because God alone deserves worship .
  • Jesus died at 32 im pretty sure. good point though, i can see you put some thought into it.
  • Simple. Do you give thanks to the checkwriter or the mailman who delivers it? A Prophet is a messenger of God. They don't worship Mohammed but he is venerated. They don't treat Jesus as the son of God but a messenger of God. They believe Mohammed is the deliverer of the uncorrupted word of God. I hope that clarifies it.
