I had the same problem with my 200 grand prix and it was the fuel pump shut off switch, it had to be reset so that the cars computer would let the car start and run properly. caused by a sudden jolt or huge pot hole. will shut the flow senser off of fuel to the engine so that the car won't blow up in an accident. just by hitting a large bump or haveing the car be jolted,The car thinks its in an accident and this is what happens as a result

The trac off light came on because of an engine problem. The Traction system in that car works by talking to the engine to tell it to reduce torque to stop the wheels from spinning. You need to have someone use a scan tool to talk to the engine computer and find out the problem. The list of things that could cause what you describe is very long and anything else I could say would be just a S.W.A.G.
    Sorry I can't help more.

You should take it to the Pontiac dealership. They'll know how to fix it.

Hmm im looking for a dislike button for FauxLo, If we wanted to spend many hundreds of dollars for cheep and easy problems to be fixed at a dealership we would go there. Much easier and cheeper to find the problem and fix it ourselves. For example, this morning my grand am wouldnt stop, this hasnt happened for a long time, and im guessing its one of these three things. My Battery is finaly dead after 120k miles, might happen, prolly not though, It might be corrosion on the wires connected to the battery like last time, but it was working fine yesterday all the way into last winter so, it was too sudden for corrosion to all of a sudden have an effect, But it might be, easy thing to check when i pop the hood this afternoon. It might be a lack of fuel pressure by either a loose tube or just a bad fuel pump, which unfortunately i have reason to believe that the fuel pump or some part of that system is the problem do to another problem my car is having. So it looks like I might have a large project coming my way to replace my fuel pump, thats just not gona be fun or easy, but its beter to spend 200-300$ on a fuel pump than 1,000$ to have a dealership do it. But lets all hope its something small, along with the other problem im having with it. :/
