What happens if you put the "this side up" side down while popping microwave popcorn?

The flaps of paper will be folded UNDERNEATH the bag, and the weight of the popcorn will prevent the bag from expanding since the flaps can't open. The best, your popcorn won't cook evenly. At worst, the bag will explode inside the microwave when the volume of the popped corn exceeds the volume of the folded bag.

It burns sends smoke everywhere and sets off the alarm. I was an idiot did it because I was not paying attention. I set of the alarms in my apartment and had to call school security. My roommate said I was not here when it happened. I did not think she needed a babysitter apparently she does. Ha ha everybody got a laugh on my expense. Always pay attention when cooking!
