I do not believe this is related to sex at all. An erection has to do with blood flow. Not being able to perform during sex; you may want to consider who you are trying to have sex with. It's all about what you want!

No, the latest thoughts on nocturnal erections are that they are for increased blood circulation to the penis.

Nope. Erections at night during sleep are very normal and a sign of a healthy tool.
