What is the the meaning of the word "broad" in reference to women? Is there anything wrong with a man referring to women as broads?

It's a reference to women's hip to waist to chest ratio, as compared to men's. Women have "broad" hips, as compared to men. Speaking as a man, from a visual perspective, it's a good thing.

It used to mean a prostitute, and was generalised to refer to a coarse woman. Don't call a girl or woman by this term unless you know for sure that she won't take offence.

It referres to a womans ass as she gets older.

The actually meaning of the word broad is : A piece of meat with a hole in it.

Generally, to subject a women as a piece of meat and the hole refering to; well you know.

Broad is often used as an indiscriminate slang term for 'woman.' It may be considered derogatory. Why? I don't know, but I'm not offended by much. But I guess it's like "chick"...don't call people things that don't make sense.

You "broads" should have big hair,big boobs,wide hips,fabulous butts,small waistlines,long legs and love girl gab,shopping,
accessorizing,have "babe jobs" where you've got to
look good for the guys and when you gals bounce bra-less into
bars,concerts and sporting events,you'll take your girlfriends'
dares and pull off your top and announce,"They're 34D's-42'D'S,
boys,get a good look!"as you banter and hold your own with them!!!!

I really don't know what it means. Maybe everyone that said it has to do with their hips being wider than a man's are correct, a womans hips and body are made to conceive, carry and deliver a baby. So they would need wider hips for carrying a child and delivering it. But I would prefer not to be referred to as a broad, I think it sounds disrespectful even when you are not using it in a derogatory way. But in all honesty this is America and one of the things we hold so dear is our freedom of speech, to be able to say whatever is on our minds without fear of reprisal so I will defend that right until the end of time (at least my time..lol)...
