Absolutely not. If you are denied, it could be based on your income for which you make and not your FICO score. Years ago I tried to get an American Express card and I was denied because I did not meet the income requirements to get the card. You need to make a large amount of money per year to get that card. Don't worry about it if you get denied, for in some ways it's better not to have a credit card, for the interest rates are too high these days. If you have one credit card, it might as well be a visa or master card.

Not for being denied. However, every time you apply for a credit card and they check with the credit bureau, they credit bureau keeps track. And it will affect your score if you have too many. Believe me, I found out the hard way!
