  • Copyright laws prohibit unauthorized reproduction or display of protect content. This means that you couldn't just post it, but you could ask the magazine publisher permission to display it with their name credited.
  • At the very least, you will require written permission from the copyright holder of the image that you want to display. Write a letter, e-mail is acceptable for the initial contact, to the individual or company that holds the copyright and ask for permission to use the image. You should include a list of the terms of use that you would like, e.g., permission to copy the image to one page of your website, with the copyright holder given credit at the bottom of the same page or in the text adjacent to the image. Any limitations on your use of the image will be clearly defined by the copyright holder. You may also be required to pay royalties for use of the image. Failure to obtain permission from the copyright holder may result in a legal action against you to remove the image and/or pay a penalty.
