  • It might be "possible" but it's not safe, healthy or sustainable. You would most likely ruin your metabolism for later and you'd be sick and would gain the weight back. You are supposed to aim for 2lbs a week. Sometimes if you are overweight you will be able to lose a lot more than this in a week HEALTHILY. I would say it is absolutely possible that you could lose 60lbs in 6 months and keep it off. The trick besides regular exercise, is to calculate your BMR which tells you how many calories you need to maintain your current weight and drop that by 500calories/day or if you're overweight you can sometimes drop it by 1000 as long as you never go under 1200calories a day.
