  • sounds like your having an issue with the nuetral side of your circuit. best have a qualified electrician have a look at it, electricity don't play and don't give any kind of warning.
  • Maybe you have to many things plugged in? Or maybe the outlets are old.
  • Thank you, I resorted to having only the stove on or the water heater (seperate circuit) and neither will work properly. Could it be the power coming into the house? Can a circuit box itself go bad? What could cause two breaker fuses to degrade or stop working?
  • Thank you for the quick response, Could it be the fuse? Why Now?
  • first thing I would look at would be the connections in the service panel for that circuit, but only if you are comfortable doing it, a loose connection can cause this problem, you should get it fixed soon low power will reduce the life of your appliances
  • sounds like you only have 120v in your house, if that is the case only the 120 v circuits on one side of your service panel will work and none of the 220v circuits will work. If you have an electric dryer you might try that, if it turns but doesn't heat that is probably your problem, same with your range, the clock and lights would work but not the burners or oven, call an electrician.
  • You will hve to tell us which cicuit it is (what it feeds). At what times does this occur? Is there any ''major'' appliances running when this happens?
  • It may also be a loose connection of just one of the two energized conductors feeding the panel. It could be also be a bad splice of the Service Entrance Cable at where they are tapped, at the weatherhead, at the service drop. It may also be the meter base and it's connection or a meter going bad.
  • If you live in Florida, you could have a transponder that was put their to conserve electricity.
