Here is the song if you don't know it.

I love the chipmunks!!!!!!!!!! OHHHHHHHHH you mean the little boy in line, who wants to buy his mom knew shoes. awwwwwwwwwww it makes me sad tooooooo!
-
I turn the radio off around Christmas, lest I be bombarded with the same Christmas songs over and over again until my ears bleed.
-
When a sad song comes on I break down and think of all those who have lost a love one or will be alone. That is the worst part of any holiday and I feel their pain.
-
I usually listen even when they make me cry,but there are times when I just have to turn them way down or off.
-
I love Christmas music. But, its weird but I like the sad ones more...I guess it is because I lost my Grandmother and baby brothers through the holidays.

I think the holidays can bring joy and celebration as well as nostolgia and even melancholy. We tend to take stock of our lives during this time, and we think of loved ones who can't be with us. So it can be both happy and sad. That said, I think the Christmas Shoes song is a blatant manipulation of emotion intent on artificially drawing out tears.

I love the happy Christmas songs mostly, but one of my faviourites is the Coventry Carol, which describes the Massacre of the Innocents. We have to keep in mind that, in reality, the world at the time of Jesus was a pretty grim place. Lully, lullay,* Thou little tiny Child, By, by, lully, lullay. Lullay, Thou little tiny Child, By, by, lully, lullay. O sisters too, how may we do, For to preserve this day This poor youngling for whom we sing By, by, lully, lullay. Herod the king, in his raging, Charged he hath this day His men of might, in his own sight, All children young to slay. That woe is me, poor Child for Thee! And ever morn and day,* For thy parting neither say nor sing, By, by, lully, lullay.

i think they make me feel sad, but thats he season feeling for REAL chritmas spirit. the happiness comes from being sad together. e.g misery loves company
-
I like the sad ones....in doses. They remind me to be realistic about expectations during the season. There is no such thing as a perfect holiday. Even though Martha Stewart has tried to brainwash us otherwise. But that shoes song pisses me off. I'm not sure why. Maybe I just have Mommy issues. But seriously, I can't stomach it.

I only like the old Christmas carols sung the way they were written..no jazzing up or bringing down. Fa la la la la..la la la la!
