    An infected belly button due to improper body piercing needs to be attended to by a physician. However, you can try to treat it yourself first by cleaning the infected area with soap and warm water, and then apply otc topical antibiotics to see if the infection will go away. With the recent resurgence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria such as MRSA, I strongly recommend that you see a doctor right away.
