What would cause my brake light fuse to blow & make it so you have to use the shift lock override lever to put it in gear? this is on a 2002 toyota tacoma. every time you step on the brake pedal the fuse blows

    It has a short in a brake light wire. If it has a trailer hitch on it, the short is probably there, near the hitch in the wiring that goes to the hitch. If it is a factory hitch, there may be a connector that can be unplugged for the trailer lights. Unplug it and see if it blows the fuse. If it doesn't you know where the short is.
