    Well, when I could remember how to deal with all the different cases in German, I was a lot better with who/whom.

    You'd probably get the most benefit out of a germanic-based language or latin-based language, since those two are where most of our structure and words come from. I can't see learning swahili (just to pick one out) as uber helpful in this context.

    For me it did. Learning Spansh enabled me to recongnize Latin bases in some words, and discern their meaning.

    No, but not learning another language improves my Hispanic friends' English!

    Actually, I think it does. I speak a little bit of at least five languages, and would like to learn more. I think it makes you think more about the meaning and use of English words.
