  • Christians believe in Christ/God - Muslims in Allah and on it goes. If those who "claim" to love God really did love God this question wouldn't need to be asked. It's asked only because there is doubt. The safety of numbers in one's particular group/religion/denomination can't erase the doubt. Only God can erase doubt. Love for God means recognition of Him and His love. If you have religion you may be forced to prove your own beliefs instead of focusing on God. Focusing on God means letting go of the false self and seeking God. A seeker of God doesn't package heaven and hell and use it as a scare tactic. A true seeker loves God and wouldn't have the need to define some place of reward and punishment. What happens to them? Heaven and hell exist only as we see them from a limited human perspective. Our vocabulary is limited so we use the words heaven and hell to describe the best and worst. Some people are living a hell on Earth at the moment and some have died in this hell. Who created that hell? Humanity did. Not God. Edit - Thom64: "This answer does not reflect (normal) Christian beliefs, though it is possible some claiming to be Christian may believe this." Those claiming to be "normal" don't allow others to interpret differently. I've never thought that the belief in Christ is normal or abnormal. It's belief. It's love. It's not judgmental. Everyone makes a claim Thom, you included.

There is no evidence to support the claims of ANY cult - Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, whatever. Make all the cult claims you like. Make all the hell-threats you like. They are ALL empty, childish, and without ANYTHING to back them up.
  • First off, it's not only those who believe, but those who obey the Gospel, who will go to heaven. Sometimes people use the cliche "I believe" as simply another way of saying "I acknowledge". But the apostles of Jesus Christ required more than just verbal acknowledgment; they demanded a response from those they preached the Gospel to (see Acts 2:38). But in that light, what happened (or happens) to those who have never heard of Him? The safest answer can only be a Bible answer: "If this Gospel be hid, it is hid to them who are lost." (II Corinthians 4:3) This is a good question. Perhaps a few other questions might go right along with this one: Do we really know what goes on in the hearts of the billions of people? Do we really know whether in the night at seasons in their lives God doesn't stir their spirit, discomfit their soul and attempt to woo them into seeking more than they have and know? From all of God's creation, everything we can see demonstrates the invisible things of God and reveals His power and divinity, to the point they are clearly seen and understood, so that everyone is without excuse. (Romans 1:20) My suggestion to this question is that no one will face God in judgment and be able to deny that there were times in their lives when He tried to motivated them into following His stirring of their conscience.

  • Just read the entire New testament, specially Book of Romans and James I. In this way, you will be able to understand more the New Testament from Christ's perspective and you will see that God's grace has always been promoted since the old Times. So, OT people did reach God's grace, too. The Commandments have always existed and have been not only given to Jews, but to the entire world, too. However, the law given by God is to make us understand our sinful condition in front of Him, so that we have to ADMIT that we need His help and guidance to transform us into good beings He wants us to be. The ten commandments by themselves aren't meant to save us from perdition because no human being in this planet is PERFECT in spiritual terms. We tend to do wrong every moment in our lives; even Jesus said we commit wrong with our own thoughts sometimes. Thus, it is impossible for any human on this planet to follow all ten commandments all-lifetime without failure. The bible never says you have to do good deeds or be a good person to be saved, but also not only claiming to "believe in God" and act like we don't. Many people believe that's God's Grace, yet the bible gives a different perspective. It's Faith in Christ first, and such Faith shall produce good acts, and at same time such acts shall manifest our Faith for everyone else may see and believe, too. Still, the good acts we do from Faith is not to show the world how good or perfect we are, but to praise Him because doing these things doesn't make us perfect, but only saved and justified. God will make us perfect in the sense of how He intended to raise humanity: loving, peaceful, righteous, intelligent, wise, and etc.,. God isn't someone we deal with just every Sunday, but every day. We don't a priest, Pope,or Pastor to communicate with God and confess our wrongs. Christ gives us the opportunity to go directly with Him because Christ is indeed God! Please, read New Testament!
  • FIRST OF ALL NOT EVERY ONE WHO BELIEVES IN CHRIST GOES TO HEAVEN.READ MATTHEW CHAPTER 25:31 TO 46.CONCERNING THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER HEARD OF HIM SURELY GOD WOULD JUDGE THEM ACCORDING TO THEIR HEARTS.MAYBE YOU SHOULD ASK A CHURCH PASTOR TO GET A BETTER ANSWER.JESUS DID SAY THAT HE WOULD NOT COME BACK TILL THE GOSPEL IS PREACHED TO THE FOUR CORNERS OF THE EARTH.

The earth doesn't have corners -- the earth is not flat.
  • Not everyone who believes in Christ goes to heaven. You can be a believer and go to hell. If you didn't ask him into your heart and asked for internal forgiveness of your sins...and work to live by him, you're not truly a believer. I wish I could find it in the Bible where it states that every human being before God returns will have the opportunity to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior...no matter where they are from and what they believe...EVERY ONE will have the opportunity. :)
  • Yeah, I mean how can someone believe that there's a heaven but not a Hell? But then again, Jesus told us to love each other no matter what, and pray for people. Jesus did say that, " If I be lifted up on the cross, I will draw all men to me". And I think He does that is through us.
  • I once asked this question on a site, and the general consensus from Christians who answered was that everybody has the opportunity of coming to know Christ. I pointed out that if you lived in some remote part of the world this could be difficult, and said, 'So it can be a matter of geography?', to which one Christian replied, 'Yes'.
  • If someone was not able to hear the gospel, God judges them according to there heart. "If everyone who believes in Christ goes to heaven" Satanist believe in Christ, I can not say for sure whether they will go to heaven or not. Yet IMHO the cards are stacked against them. This is a reaching statement at best. Glenn, you are searching for a specific answer so you can debate it. "and everyone who doesn't goes to hell," Who are you to say who goes to hell and who doesn't. God is a very loving and forgiving God. If Hitler, in his last breathe, from his heart, truly asked for Jesus' forgiveness... Jesus would be fare and just in granting total forgiveness to Hitler. For all we know, no one is in Hell. Not even Mormons, oh wait, they don't believe in hell.
  • First it is not just believe. Satan believes and he has been judged to death already. You must believe and worship God. If you lived in a place were you did not know of God then that is why we have the millium. For those who had no chance of knowing God. They will get to learn and know and choose God in the millium. God is not so unjust as to send someone to hell without a chance.
  • Dante created the outermost circle of Hell, which was really quite pleasant, for such people. He put there the sages of Ancient Greece, who he respected deeply but who lived before Jesus and could never have received his salvation.
  • Please read these and you will have your answer. Matthew 5:1-5) 5 When he saw the crowds he went up into the mountain; and after he sat down his disciples came to him; 2 and he opened his mouth and began teaching them, saying: 3 “Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need, since the kingdom of the heavens belongs to them. 4 “Happy are those who mourn, since they will be comforted. 5 “Happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth. (John 11:21-25) 21 Martha therefore said to Jesus: “Lord, if you had been here my brother would not have died. 22 And yet at present I know that as many things as you ask God for, God will give you.” 23 Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” 24 Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.” 25 Jesus said to her: “I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life; (John 11:38-44) 38 Hence Jesus, after groaning again within himself, came to the memorial tomb. It was, in fact, a cave, and a stone was lying against it. 39 Jesus said: “TAKE the stone away.” Martha, the sister of the deceased, said to him: “Lord, by now he must smell, for it is four days.” 40 Jesus said to her: “Did I not tell you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” 41 Therefore they took the stone away. Now Jesus raised his eyes heavenward and said: “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 True, I knew that you always hear me; but on account of the crowd standing around I spoke, in order that they might believe that you sent me forth.” 43 And when he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice: “Laz′a·rus, come on out!” 44 The [man] that had been dead came out with his feet and hands bound with wrappings, and his countenance was bound about with a cloth. Jesus said to them: “Loose him and let him go.” 25 “Most truly I say to YOU, The hour is coming, and it is now, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who have given heed will live. 26 For just as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted also to the Son to have life in himself. 27 And he has given him authority to do judging, because Son of man he is. 28 Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment. 30 I cannot do a single thing of my own initiative; just as I hear, I judge; and the judgment that I render is righteous, because I seek, not my own will, but the will of him that sent me. • Not that they actually care. Heaven and hell only exist for the believers. So let them torture themselves by trying to avoid one to get into the other. The more that succeed the better the world is for the rest of us.
  • Nothing happens to them. they're simply worm food.
  • I was once taught that Jesus will not return until the word has been spread to every corner of the Earth. I am not positive if this is actually in the bible, but it makes sense. I think that worshiping god is doing what's right and worshiping the devil the opposite, whether or not you have actually heard of those particular names for good and evil. I believe you are judged accordingly.
  • BINGO, does that ring any bells? does that tell you this whole thing was dreamed up? it was always about money and free loading off some one elses ignorance to make a living. have you been keeping up with bible history? then you know that Mary was Jesus's wife not his mother. this Jesus thing is a hoax. now i won't say that there is not a supreme being (god) cause i believe there is,but I or no one else has any Idea who it is. we just go on faith.
  • Its my firm belief that God is a God of love anf justice. So for those that live before Christ or isolated where they never heard the word then they shall be judge according to their lifestyles, chores, and their heart.
  • I asked that of vehemently self-proclaimed christians before. They like to point to somewhere in the book of Romans, where Paul states in his letter to the romans that God makes himself plain in the things he creates. I believe it is Romans 1:18 as found at http://gracewalk.wordpress.com/2009/09/22/912/ . From that we are to surmise that because of the beauty of nature, the skies, all that is green, etc., everyone is to fairly surmise it was made by a certain God, and it is to be obvious that that God sent a saviour of fair skin and silken hair named Jesus, and it is to be self-evident that that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Therefore those who never heard of God and Jesus, and did not so believeth in them, have ignored such evidence and will go to hell. I have asked for evidence of one occasion where missionaries arrived in far-flung places only to find a people who somehow had already found, by these plain indications, the right God and saviour already and therefore did not need to align their spirituality correctly through missionary efforts. No one has produced such evidence yet.
  • They're still in The Waiting Room waiting for a Gideon Bible.
  • I asked a nun that once when I was 10 = she said they were all just sh*t outta luck. [not a direct quote] ;-)
  • acording to LDS doctrine everyone will get the opportunity to recieve the gospel, wether in this life or the next.
  • When Christ was crucified, He was dead for three days before resurrection. If I'm not mistaken, many people believe that when Christ died and descended to the dead, He was there to preach the Gospel to those who had died before He came. He went where they were, just as He does for all of us.
  • First of all, not all who believe and obey go to heaven. Acts 2;34; Matt.11:11; Psalm 37:9,11,29. One does not have to go to heaven to have a happy future. Psalm 37:11 says: "The meek ones themselves will possess the EARTH, and they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace." Please also read MIcah 4:3,4. Jesus did say that he would select a little flock to reign with him in heaven. Rev. 20:6 says of these ones : "They will be priests of God and of the Christ and they will rule as kings with him for the thousand years." Also Daniel 7:27. Revelation 5:10 says: "You make them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will rule as kings over the earth. (here the King James bible says "on" the earth....but at Revelation 11:6, the same Greek word and grammatical structure is found and there the King James renders it over the earth ...just as does the Catholic Knox, and other translations. If they are to rule over the earth, then there must be earthly subjects to rule over just as the Bible states. Acts 24:15: “I have hope toward God . . . that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” (Both those who lived in harmony with God’s righteous ways and people who, out of ignorance, did unrighteous things will be resurrected. We can be confident that God, who knows all the facts, will act impartially, with justice tempered by mercy that does not ignore his righteous standards. Compare Genesis 18:25.) Rev. 20:13, 14: “The sea gave up those dead in it, and death and Hades "hell" gave up those DEAD in them, and they were judged individually according to their deeds. And death and Hades "Hell" were hurled into the lake of fire. This means the second death, the lake of fire.” (So, those whose death was attributable to Adamic sin will be raised, whether they were buried at sea or in Hades, "Hell" the common earthly grave of dead mankind.) Will some be raised simply to have judgment pronounced and then be consigned to second death as some contend? What is the meaning of John 5:28, 29? It says: “All those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.” What Jesus said here must be understood in the light of the later revelation that he gave to John. (See Revelation 20:12, 13, quoted on page 337.) Both those who formerly did good things and those who formerly practiced bad things will be “judged individually according to their deeds.” What deeds? If we were to take the view that people were going to be condemned on the basis of deeds in their past life, that would be inconsistent with Romans 6:7: “He who has died has been acquitted from his sin.” It would also be unreasonable to resurrect people simply for them to be destroyed. So, at John 5:28, 29a, Jesus was pointing ahead to the resurrection; then, in the remainder of verse 29, he was expressing the outcome after they had been uplifted to human perfection and been put on judgment. This will all take place here on earth under the rule of God's kingdom after the earth has been returned to a paradise as God originally intended.
  • Very good question. Heaven, Hell, Sin, guilt etc are all misused words to control the human beings and rule over them. Heaven and Hell are all space you create. There is nothing like this life is a sinner life. Nothing to be guilty of. Your doings only judge you. It's the pain you get out of yoru doings, basically Karma is what is hell. The happiness out of it is what is heaven. Nobody is a sinner. So enjoy life to it's fullest,. This life is a blessing.
  • Those who followed the Law handed to the Jewish peoples by God, were retrieved during the time when, as the story describes before Jesus' ascension to the seat at the right hand of God, Jesus descended into a realm where believers were said to have existed and it was at that time Jesus brought the followers home. Remember forgiveness/atonement of sins were carried out before Jesus arrived. Jesus was necessary to be the final act of bloodshed for the sins of man, could you imagine the riots that would be caused by people slaying an animal "all in the name of atonement for sin...LOL in todays society?
  • Nephesh From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Redirected from Soul (Nephesh, Psyche Please read this it will answer your question.
  • Why did Jesus speak of death as a sleep? Because a sleeping person is inactive. During deep sleep there is no consciousness of surroundings or the passing of time. There is no pain or suffering. Similarly, in death there is no activity or activity or consciousness. But the comparison goes further with sleep. With sleep, one expects to wake up. And that is exactly the hope that the Bible offers for the dead. This would be the resurrection that Jesus spoke about, that would be sometime in the future when the resurrection takes place. Jesus’ early disciples clearly understood the true condition of the dead. To the followers of Jesus death was a sleep, and the grave a resting-place.
  • ***IF*** everyone who believes in Christ [during their lifetime] goes to heaven . . . and . . . ***IF*** everyone who doesn't [believe in Christ during their lifetime] goes to hell . . . THEN your question has already been answered.
  • To start with the idea of leaving Earth behind to burn up while you go to heaven that's an idea straight from the very mouth of Lucifer himself. Notice the Bible scripture here oh Lucifer Lucifer how thou has fallen you were perfect in all your ways until iniquity was found in you and you said come and let us go on up to heaven where we will make our home with the gods and we will take it upon ourselves to become like him. Now go to the Old testament you must not teach your children that when they pass that they will go through the fire to be with molex that's the bull faced God the baphomet the Satan. Continuing on for this thought is an abomination to me it's something I did not command you to teach and such a thought would never enter my mind! He then instructed Moses to put it into the law to take you out side the city and kill you for teaching this false doctrine. Yes friend the penalty for teaching that when you die if you're not good you're going to go burn in hell God said to put those kind of people to death to kill you! The doctrine of heaven and hell are pagan doctrines and abomination to God. The purpose of mankind is to occupy the planet Earth just like God told Adam and Eve. And to answer your question directly every last one of us is in the exact same position we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God none of us are righteous no not one and there will be a resurrection of the good and of the evil. Every last one of us will wake up in front of God the righteous people will go away to begin the program under Jesus Christ to begin to restore Earth. Those people that are evil well the Bible says this about them do not fear man who can only kill the body and then can do no more rather fear God who after he has killed you can destroy your soul in hell. Notice again and if you have missed it go back and read it till it's burned into your mind! God kills you first before he throws you to be destroyed in hell you're dead body is what goes into hell to be burned up. God is against throwing somebody alive to be burned up in the fire. He considers that a cruel and inhumane punishment. There's only one thing in the Bible that says it's going into hell while it's still alive and that it's the wild beast. Of Revelation
