Air,Kanon,Clannad and X-1999...uptil now cause of all the anime ive seen those ones are the saddest.

Death Note and InuYasha. I cried in one of the episode on Death Note and InuYasha

Kanon or Grave of the Fireflies, though they're different kinds of sad. Grave of the Fireflies is just tragic whereas Kanon the kind of sad where they build up plenty of happy times and then contrast with sadness and misfortune. The story arc of Makoto is just.... definitely the closest I've been to tears. I guess it depends on your taste in sorrow, I personally think Kanon is sadder.

I don't really kow but a real tear jerker to me was an episode of Inu Yasha...one of the ones in in the first season. It was the episode with a ghost girl who died in a fire, and was trying to kill her little brother. and in the end she learns that what she did was wrong (with the help of Kagome) snd she still love s her family, and she confronts her mother and says sorry and good bye, and then she goes up to heaven (dammit I'm cryin just thinkin about that episode). I don't thik anyone would remember that one since it was at the beginning of InuYasha..but it was a real tear jerker for me and my sister.

Ever made? How could one answer that if they didnt see the next saddest anime? In my opinion, I believe the animation for Chrono Crusade and Elfin Lied is pretty horrible. >O Sad and horrible, actually. I don't remember much about Blue Gender except that they keep on killing off people so Im not even going to bother. ;__; FY is pretty sad at times as well.

I have never cried as often as when I watched Kanon - second saddest is Air - I have to throw in the episode of Full Metal Alchemist with Nina (the second one actually) I still hate her dad, I'm thinking that was episode six.

I have barely seen any anime, but of the ones I HAVE seen, 'Elfen Lied' was pretty emotional - I encourage everyone to check it out infact *nods*

Saddest? Hmm it got to be Air TV. That last episode + the music bit really make a grown man cry like a baby. kanon and elfen lied are really sad too.

Definitely Grave of the Fireflies. Barefoot Gen is quite a contender, too.

The saddest one is Hotaru no Haka movie. From anime Saikano, Kannazuki no Miko, Elfen Lied, and others.

mine would have to be Sola this anime made me cry in every episode worser than the endings of Ah! Megumi-sama season 1&2 dang it even remembering both them is making me tear up *goes to watch something to get his mind off them*

Tengen toppa, a lot of cool characters died, heroically of course, and plus, the main characters love interest and him could not be together in the end of the series, but that is how it is.

Elfen lied. In the end you feel so bad for what happened to those girls

School days made me cry like a baby....especially the last episode....whew i don't think I can ever watch that series ever again way to emotional for me..

Rozen Maiden 2 ~traumend~ is sooo sad! It made me cry when - SPOLIER! - Souseiseki died! And when Hina Ichigo died too, I couldn't stop crying for 2 days. Even now when I watch the scene again I end up bursting into tears.

Saddest anime by far is Full Moon wo Sagashite.

for me, by far the saddest anime ever is Elfen Lied. its got lots of gore, but the last episode made me bawl my eyes out (which is like the first time i've ever gotten teary when watching an anime).

Clannad, and Clannad After Story. Clannad After Story is only particularly sad when watching Clannad first. Kanon is also very sad.
