Some websites are only compatible with Internet Explorer.. but I have a Mac. Is there anything I can do? ...And honestly, if you say "buy a PC", I might have to dock you some points :)

Many say they are but you can really use any browser including Firefox. For those that actually are, there's always Virtual Machines (run Windows on your mac in a window).

Microsoft has a version of IE for Mac, but I would use caution when using it. Even version 7 is one of the most insecure browsers around. Just google Internet Explorer for Mac.
