Is it ok for a 17 year old girl to date a 25 year old guy and would it be better if the girl was 18 years old?

yea it ok considering most girls date men older than themselfs, there aint nuthing wrong with it just be sure he likes you cause a lot of older guys try to trick younger girls for sex or other things.

In my country 16 is the legal age of consent. Having said that, I feel that there is a vast difference in maturity in most cases between a 17 year old and a 25 year old. The question i would be asking is, what could a 25 year possibly have in common with a 17 year old other than the obvious?

well my partners workmate is 30 and he is dating a 17 year old. its not against the law. but people are going to stare. but if you are muture and are wanting a serious relationship then why not

Im kind of having the same problem beacuse i really like this guy and he's 25....but im 17 and i dont know what to do!! but also i will be 18 soon so i think that i will date him then...??i guess??

In my state, because of legality issues, it would be better if the girl were 18. The 25 year old guy JUST misses out on being covered under the Romeo and Juliet law. If I were a member of that relationship, I would suggest they keep things as chaste and friendly as possible until both were of unquestionable legal age.

I believe it's okay to date older people. However, that 1 yr older just might make someone's day. You wouldn't have to worry about a staturtory rape charge.

Once the girl turns 18 then all is fine. But if the girl is 17, and the man is 25, and they are involved in sexual relations. even if BOTH parties consented is seen as statutory rape. If reported the male could go to prison for a while. But thats in australia. i dont know the laws from where this question originated from.

Depends on if you are menain legally or if it would work. Age of concent is 16, BUT if he is over 18, the age difference has to be within 5 years. At your age that is a HUGE age difference. You are in one stage of life, and he is in another. You still dont know who you are, no matter how much you think yo udo. You will chance a million times by the time you are 25. He has already figured out who he is, hopefully. If not, he's not someone who you need to be with anyways, because he is not maturing like he needs to.

i truly think that the girl should wait until she is 18 to at least have sexual relations with the 25 year old but if they are dating why not espec if she is gonna be 18 in a few months

Of course it would be safer if the girl was 18 but I can't say it's wrong because I'm currently doing that. I am 17 & the guy is 27. Some 17-year-olds are simply just mature enough in my opinion. 16 would be pushing it. Another thing to consider is if they're having sex or not. 17 is past the age of consent in some states, however,you might want to check the laws because they're all different.

I was 16 when I was dating a 27 year old. It didnt last becasue I was still acting like I was 16 and we had nothing in common only sex. It was great sex, thats all I can remember.

It's not illegal in my country, but the couple would get funny looks, unless he looked young for his age.
