    Judy Blume is really good.

Other than that you could ask a children's librian for recomendations.

Harry Potter, good books, have a good message. Written in prose that anyone could understand, just an overall great series.

Judy Blume is great for that age. I also remember reading all of the Narnia books and the Little House series at that age. What kind of books interest her? I was horse crazy from age 7 on up. I remember that Walter Farley wrote some great series of horse novels for girls that age...The Black Stallion series and the Island Stallion series come to mind. My sister enjoyed Encylopedia Brown and Harriet the Spy too.
