Depends on the state in which you live. some states will give this information, some state will not. look in your phone book under state government. locate judiciary and finally, parole office. like i said, this may be confidential information, in your state, and you may not be given the information you are looking for. nothing ventured, nothing gained.

You can contact your state's Pardon and Parole board committee. their number should be listed in the phone book under "state government offices"

First of all, if you have any involvement with the case or safety issues with this person, and you haven't already been in contact with Victim Assistance, you need to get in touch with them immediately to tell them your concerns. Victim Assistance will let you know that person's status now, and keep your informed of any changes in their case in the future. That is, if you are someone who should know, or is related to the case. Not all counties have funding to offer this assistance, and it's probably available only in major cities or metropolitan areas. It's not fail safe either, so if there are life threatening issues, it's best to not leave it all up to them to keep you "in the loop" but rather to contact their office regularly to be sure you're not forgotten. Having said all that, you're probably just curious about finding out someone's status, or else you'd already know about Victim Assistance and be in their program. So, if it's curiousity you're looking to resolve, you'll at least need to know where the case was originally tried. Use Google to find the county site, then search their site for court records. There is no charge to look this up, if the county offers it themselves online, so don't fall for any of the numerous places that charge people money that don't know any better. You'll be able to view case notes and judgements, usually listed by date. You may need a SSN or DOB, but usually all you really need is a last name, initial to locate the file. The Freedom of Information Act gives citizens the right to access public documents, including property info, (such as ownership, land values and monies owed on property leins or taxes), as well as access to basic info in most charges and court cases, such a robberies or drug crimes. I don't know, but I don't think you can access federal cases or those involving serious crimes, such as murder, but I really don't know about those. Hope this helps some. Good Luck!
