G'day Hellaphunt, Thanks for your question. My nearest Chinatown is in the suburb of Dickson in Canberra. Google Maps advises me that it is 11.8 kilometres. One of the most famous Chinese people in the world Jackie Chan has strong ties to Canberra with his parents having lived here. Regards

We actually call it the International District because it is a mix of several Asian shops/stores/etc. And it is just south of downtown, so it's about 6 miles from our house.

I live in Liverpool Sydney. Nearby, about 5 mins away is the suburb of Cabramatta, which is where many of the Vietnamese Chinese refugees settled after the war ended. It is my closest "Chinatown" and a great place to go shopping, and the food is fantastic. In the centre of Sydney, about 40 mins away is the official Chinatown, in the Haymarket. The Chinese who live and work there are older arrivals, some of them from the late 19th century, but many others who came during the 20th century.
