LCD will give you the most bang for the buck. Plasma can cost you maintenance dollars and can be a big drain on your electric bill. Take a look at the link;

We didn't get too modern for our new TV. We went for a DLP Tv. We love it. We've had it for over one year and it has been fabulous. It is a 50" Samsung and we couldn't ask for a nicer tv, easy to hook up, easy to add everything else to it, easy to you remote. We love it. And it was about 2/3rds' the price of a plasma or LCD of the same size.

I really don't know but Consumer reports has a web site that sometimes lets you see the ratings without acutally being a member...and they also have their annual ratings book. They not only rate TV's they will give you the pros and cons of each type.

Plasma tv's can reach an incredible 71 inches in screen size where as lcd tv's reach about 46 inches.

Plasma tv's are heavier then lcd tvs and lcd tvs come slightly thinner

LCD usually has a slightly clearer picture in smaller models and a higher resolution

Lcd tv's usually have a longer lifespan then a plasma as its not operated by gas which will need refilling

Lcd tv's use less energy then plasma tv's

Lcd all the way unless you are looking for a very big size. Check out this article which should help you somewhat
