I have a 2000 Ford windstar, there is a "knocking noise" in the center of the dashboard and I have no heat. When you turn the heat off and change to climate control to cold the knocking noise stops. What could be wrong?

if it is like a clicking noise in the center of your dash you need to change the blender motor. That motor changes your heat from defrost to heat and the gears strip and they make that noise, about 75.00 from dealer on a scale from 1 to 10 this job is about an 8 so if your not too handy bring it to a garage.
