If you flag a question as a duplicate and the duplicate is erased do the answers go to the original question or are they erased as well?

They go to the original question.

I think the answers to the duplicate question are merged to the original question.

All answers go to the original question and then that person has to rate them.If they are still about. I spent 2 hours rating and commenting on 122 that had been moved onto one of my questions but i queried it because it did not seem a correct duplicate and after all my comments and time they were all moved back . I had asked them to do it though :)
