  • If your gifts are going to people near you, you could offer the gift of "worker for a day" and do all the odd jobs they need. Far away is harder. You could offer to set up a computer blog or website for them.

  • One of my girlfriends seems to have everything. I had no idea what to buy her until a friend of mine suggested a purse hook. I had no idea what it was, and after some research, I thought this was really the perfect gift. And it's not that expensive. I got her a black one at http://www.stylagio.com
  • go into charity shops! find some great and unique things! generally really good prices - and helping the charity! no postage costs (like buying on EBay) It makes me feel good to buy something from a charity shop :D
  • First, by all means DO NOT go beyond your budget for gift giving! The best gifts are those gifts of the person. For instance, if you have friends with small children, give them a card good for a couple of hours babysitting so they can go to a movie or out to dine. Bake a few batches of cookies as gifts, or a few recipes of fudge. You can probably think of all sorts of neat gifts to make! Remember - - Christmas is the SPIRIT in which the gift is given - not it's cost to the giver!
