  • Check the label, that is your best bet. I however do wash mostly everything in cold water.
  • Actually you can wash most everything in cold. Especially with the new cold water detergents which dilute easier in cold water. It is a sure energy saver. You should, however, still take the time to separate colors so that you do not ruin your clothes. I also still prefer to wash our whites in hot in order to keep them white.
  • My machine is a cold fill but I wash just about everything on 30 or 40 Centigrade
  • I wash everything in cold always.
  • There's no reason that you can't wash everything in cold water. Warmer water tends to be more effective in removing dirt because higher temperatures increase the strength of chemical reactions (hence, making detergents more effective). However, if you're lifestyle is such that you don't tend to get your clothes very dirty (most people don't), then cold water washing should be sufficient (and will tend to make your clothes last longer).
