Not sure how many, but on a trip to Australia we went to a wildlife preserve and they were just wandering around.

Not many. All in captivity. They are only found in the outback. You don't see them in the coastal areas of southern Australia.

I've often seen them in zoos in the US. And I've seen them do tricks in one small circus.
