As far as I know it doesn't have a special name such as venison for deer meat. Most of the time I have just heard it called "rabbit."

You may mean hasenpfeffer but all that is is a German rabbit stew. It's the name of a dish or recipe, not of rabbit. If you were French or Cajun you might call it lapin. But cooked rabbit is just cooked rabbit, yum!!! I know about 100 ways to cook rabbit. One of my favorite meats:-)
