Your rabbit could be sick or he could just be having poop problems. If he isnt' eating he needs to go to the vet. Is he overweight?

Here are two sites that talk about rabbit poop and cleaning their rear ends. Cornstarch works wonders!

    http://www.bio.miami.edu/hare/poop.html

Please read these and get some help for you rabbit.

Also, try feeding some pineapple to your rabbit as it helps many digestive problems, but only after you get some help from the vet.

If he isn't eating or drinking he is in serious danger of dying without vet care.

My rabbit did this, she had flystrike, you cannot leave a bunny with a mucky bottom in hot weater because the flies with lay their eggs & they hatch within 12 to 24 hours & starts to eat their way out. Baby cornstarch powder is excellent in getting their bottoms clean (do not use talc its bad for them)& remember that a rabbits skin if very fragile so dont pull their skin. If you cant get them to eat they will get gut statis & they will die, you must get your rabbit to a vet as a matter of urgency. My rabbit was taken to the vet immediately but unfortunately she died.

If your rabbit isn't eating then he won't be poo'ing and this can lead to mucoid enteritis. What i do at home when i cant get to the vet for what ever reason is 1) give calpol which is an infant paracetamol suspension for any pain (rabbits do not tollerate pain very well) 2) i give infacol which is a baby suspension for wind gripe water works well also. When the gut stops moving it fills with wind which causes a lot of pain and this is why you see your rabbit sat hunched up and often you will hear them grinding their teeth with the pain. 3) Give water orally through a syringe as a rabbit can quickly become dehydrated. Water is very important. 4) I also try to get some pureed apple (baby food) into them.

Get the rabbit to the vet asap i can not stress that enough!!

Also if you can not clean the rabbits bottom up then a butt bath will be your only option. Fill the sink so the rabbits bottom is in the water and gently wash the area, make sure to dry thouroughly and if your rabbit looks sore around the anus then a little bit of nappy rash cream will aid him.

Hope this helps, i will stress though this is only what i would do if i couldnt get to the vet and i dont want to take away the importance of getting your rabbit to a vet asap.

You need to take the rabbit to the vet immediately. If he's not eating or drinking he probably has GI Statis which will more than likely kill him if not treated right away. Most likely the reason he's not moving is because he is in pain.

Yes, what Frank said. You must clear the bunny's anal passage.

never feed a bunny lettuce they can not digest it and this could be the route cause of the problem. Lettuce for bunnys is like chocolate for dogs - a big no no. Veg isnt the greatest of ideas either, papaya and pineapple maybe as they help digestion, but encourage to eat timothy hay or any good quality hay as this binds the faeces and helps with fibre content and digestion, my rabbit is going through it at the moment and havent fed him for 2 days, he's just eating hay tomorrow I will begin feeding pieapple and papaya. Bath your bunny's botty in warmish water and gently pull any hay or matter stuck in there. If symptoms persist or get worse - the only answer is the costly vet :(
