I dunno, but I have three adult sons and I often look at them as if I was split into 3 people; they each have a very distinct aspect of my personality.

Quite disturbing, actually.

I'm not joking. Ever see the Star Trek episode where Kirk is split into 2 personalities? He doesn't become "whole" again until the personalities are merged. My sons are like that. They each carry one of my personality traits but lack the other traits to make them balanced. It IS quite disturbing.

Oops, sorry didn't mean to joke about it. Good luck!

I think its honestly just a bit random. It depends on the child. Some might be very similar to their parents; some might be the opposite.

Of course Hereditary wise its more true than not usually, but I assume you're talking about character and such.

G'day,

Thank you for your question.

I think that there is a great deal of truth in it as our parents are often a huge influence on us. It doesn't apply in all cases as some people become completely opposite to their parents for both good and ill.

Regards

It is often true, as we are very much products of the environment we grow up in.

Well, it's true.

It's probably often true, but in my own birth family we have 4 upstanding citizens and one who made a hash of his life, so you never know.
