• The answer McAdams folks call Oswald a loser. But was he? Barely 24 yrs old when shot, did he really fail at everything? Not mentioned in Wikipedia biography is this 'high schooldrop-out' got his GED in the Marines, passed boot camp at age 17,qualified as a radar operator, was tested in the Russian language and then "defected" to the USSR after a stint in Japan where he dated beautiful women at the Queen Bee Club, --and spy training was going on. Armed with "I hate the Marines" after a stint in the brig, which may have been rigged, he's in the USSR almost 3 yrs enjoying girlfriends, has lots of friends, marries a pretty girl, too. At the height of the Cold War,returns to the US at age 22 without problems, works several jobs-and his associates are CIA/FBI/Customs people. Marriage failing, but he has an adoring girlfriend,worships his little girl and brand-new baby. His whole life was ahead of him & he admired JFK! But as a former 'defector' he was the perfect 'patsy'--just as he said.

• Those girls at the Queen Bee were apparantly the only communists he associated with outside of the USSR. They had been dating & were trying to milk info out of the U2 pilots. Contracting a STD was a mark against you in the Marines-but beside Oswald's was indicated "received in the line of duty"!

• Oswald was and still is simply a useful fool. The people who killed JFK won't tell you who they are, but you have to know it wasn't just LHO alone. That's just too ridiculous to believe.

• The explanation of Oswald’s motive for killing President Kennedy was buried with him -- I don’t think all the answers regarding this tragic episode in the American history will ever be answered -- We can continue to speculate about why John Fitzgerald Kennedy was killed, by whom, and if it was actually Oswald, and whatever it was that angered him so much that he was willing to risk everything to commit this horrific act.

• As I said in my answer ,he was not a good enough marksman to be physically able to aim that accurate on a man in a car turning a corner.I was almost a teen when it happened and saw the cover up in the whole scenario when it happened,why before the Warren commission.In fact the first videos that where shown on TV were edited and altered hours later,then shown again.The country was in too much shock to question the event.

• "desire to be recognized"?-Yeah, that's why he said he was innocent. Not only did he have no motivation, he also did not have the means or opportunity: This was clear at least as early as the publication of Sylvia Meager's book, Accesories After the Fact(1967). She used only Warren Commission publications to prove this.

• His wife & his friend George de Mohrenschildt(sp?) both commented on his like & admiration of JFK. In Chief of Homicide Fritz's notes we have:"Says nothing against Pres..." & quotes LHO as saying "I like the President's family very well." His notes of 4 pieces of paper-8 pages-constitute the entire official record of his interrogation taken at the time. He was Qed for over 12 hours on parts of 3 days. We do have Fritz's WC tetimony & testimony & info from Roger Craig.
  What we do not have is a tape recording-Fritz claimed one unavailable!-or a stenographic record. Who would not find this suspicious?

• In the Warren Commission Report(WCR: their one vol summary)you find trickily worded truths that designed to mislead; conclusions not supported & often contradicted in the supporting 26 vols.; testimony later specifically denied by witnesses; & evidence of intimidation of witnesses.
  Anytime you examine evidence aligned against Oswald a certain fog arises...& when it clears the evidence has evaporated.

• The WCR claims that LHO brought the rifle into the TSBD in a package of what he claimed were curtain rods. But when you check out the testimony, both Buell Westley Frazier & his sister, Linnie May Randle, said it was impossible for the rifle-even in broken down form-to have fit into the package. The longest piece broken-down was 35" long, but they had seen Oswald fit the package between his curled-up fingers & under his armpit. They figured the package at least 8" too short.

• Jack E. Dougherty had come to work an hour early that day & was sitting on a worktable as LHO entered the TSBD. WC Assistant Council Joseph Ball Qed him. Dougherty said he was certain that Oswald was carrying nothing when he entered:

  D: Yes sir.

• As for the rifle that was found in the TSBD, it was a 7.65 Mauser when first discovered; on the next day, after the FBI reported LHO's purchase of the 6.5 Mannlicher-Carcano, it morphed into this rifle.
  It was discovered by Dep. Sheriffs Seymour Weitman & Eugene Boone. Four people signed statements that IDed the rifle; on the next day, 3 of them altered their statements. The exception was Dep. Sheriff Roger Craig.
  He was told: Well afer all, it was Weitzman that was the real expert & you were just going along with him. Craig replied:"Well, no, I also went by the fact that it said "7.65 Mauser" on the side of the rifle..."

• Tests for nitrates were positive for LHO's hands but negative for his face. Working with books explains those on his hands, whereas the negative for his face appears exculpatory-especially as the NA method was used, which can identify nitrates in parts per billion.
  As Jesse Curry,Chief of Police, later said in his 1970 book, "We have nothing that puts Oswald at that window with a rifle."

• WHAT CONFICTING EVIDENCE?
  As far as your (1) is concerned show me one bit of evidence of a negative attitude towards JFK-I know of none. During the summer he had read(well, checked out-this is from his library records) one book by JFK, Profiles in courage, & one book about him.
  And as for (2) we have the witnesses saying he did not carry in a rifle & none claiming o/w.
  
  And this is a typical example of what I mentioned earlier: Statements in the WCR not supported by their documentation in the supporting 26 vols. So the only conflict was outside that where I talked of 3 deputies who recanted their earlier statements-another common occurance in WC publications. The only comment above that might not be in The WCH&T is Roger Craig's-I'll have to check.
  It's now easy to access the WC stuff at www.maryferrell.org along with a million other documents on the JFK assasination.

• As I've mentioned in many places, if I find anyone who believes Oswald guilty but has an open mind, I try to start them out with Sylvia Meager's book, Accessories After the Fact(1967). She breaks her arguments into small sections & it all comes directly from the WC. She demonstrates the things I have claimed above about WC Publications & carefully proves each point one by one-where is there room for disagreement?

• I don't mind speculating on LHO's actions-pretty much educated guesses based on thousands of pp. of reading & with a fair amount of dot-connecting; I may well be wrong on many points. There are good reasons you never see such: (1)it's too easy to throw rocks at it; (2)it takes a tremendous amount of background argument to merely show why something is reasonable or probable; & (3)if you refer them to a stack of books, why in the world would they even look at them, thinking it all a waste of time?

• With the above caveat, the story proceeds. Oswald probably worked for The Office of Navel Intelligence(ONI) & certainly for the CIA. He was involved in a mock assasination attempt. But he had been forewarned by Richard Case Nagell(see the book The Man Who Knew Too much by Dick Russell) that he was actually being run by a dangerous splinter group(no doubt in my mind that this was the high level One Worlder group(OW)). The assasination attempt was 2-tier, the lower and infiltrated I refer to as the right-wing(RW).There were people from each group in the CIA: Allen Dulles,e.g., being in the OW group, E. Howard Hunt in the RR.

• No doubt Nagel communicated his trust in the FBI-quite misplaced in this case. J. Edger Hoover was at the meeting at the Murchisons' house in Fort Worth the night before the assassination, along with the Bushes, Nixon, LBJ, et. al.
