Help answer this question below.

My cat just had 2 kittens but they died from lack of food because some of the mother's nipples are crusted. How can I prevent this for her next litter?

    Are you sure this was because of the nipples?
    There could possibly be other reasons for the death of the kittens. You may want to talk to your vet before getting your cat pregnant again.

    To clean the cats nipples take a warm wet wash rag and very gently rub the nipple area. Do this at least once a week. Check every day for crust.

    Make sure your cat is eating plenty when she is pregnant should have food and water available at ALL times. A pregnant or nursing cat can become dehydrated very quickly.

    If the babies die this time, then you should probably get her spayed.

    The cat only had two kittens and they died. I would get her fixed instead and not try to use her for breeding.
