  • I would put it back in my pocket.
  • Put it back in my pocket since it was mine anyway.
  • Our family saves all change in a jar and when it's full we take it to a local mall that has a water fountain for local children's charities. My kids throw the coins in the water and make "wishes". They have a good time and they know the money goes to needy kids.
  • I keep it, my justification (valid or not) is that have been ripped off by vending machines in the past and it’s karma. Yea maybe not that vending machine company but one of them. Anyway I’m sleeping fine.
  • Accept the fact that you got a deal on a soda for $1.00. Normally when I put in the exact change, the vending machine gods never smile on me and reward me with a cash prize. You are one lucky guy!
  • It might be kind of fun just to leave it in the change slot.
  • I would buy an island in the pacific and build a mansion complete with an airport. Then I would buy a gulfstream and jet out there with all my AB friends for a cookout. Then I would... um, did you say fifty cents? Oh! well, maybe I might put it in my pocket for another day...
  • keep it it's mine

  • ...welp, I think I would keep it...and tell them their pop machine is messed up.
  • keep it.the machine is not working properly and there's no way to return it.although Hawaii Jakes idea is cool.
  • invest
  • Buy another bottle to see if it happened again. If it did, I'd buy all the soda, then take it to the park and sell it for $2 a bottle.
  • I'd take it. There is no mechanism to return it to the owners of the machine. So, while it may not be ethical, the machine is preventing you from acting ethically by not offering you a way to return the money. Therefore, it is a wash, I have done nothing wrong.
