~As far as I can see it varies a lot: some users wrote their profiles on first joining and haven't updated them since; most regular users (myself included) seem to update every few months or so, although the bulk of the info will stay the same, maybe they will add a new quote, some news, or a response to recent developments in AB land. A few update them more regularly, although I don't think there's many.

Whenever the user decides to update their profile page. Some never do while some do it all the time so it is quite a varied result that you will get with no real conclusive answers to help you here.
