  • Not to me it isn't. The benefits of citizenship belong to citizens. That wasn't so hard for me. She had a hard time because she is so wishy-washy and she hadn't had enought time to come up with something clever.
  • It does not sound complicated to me, if they are in the country illegaly then they should be thrown out. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against legal immigration, and no problem with immigration as a whole, its good for my country ( UK ), but if its illegal then nope.
  • Well as much as I hate Clinton the answer is not easy. As it is now illegal aliens come over here drive have no insurance or drivers license. We are obviously not going to be able to be able to stop them or send them all back.So would it be better for them to receive drivers license no I don't think so , but there needs to be a viable solution.
  • It is a complicated question when you realize all the issues surrounding it. Who would be in charge of proving they were illegal, and if they come to get their license would the immigration police arrest them? Drivers have to have insurance, and insurance companies are interested in insuring illegal aliens. Why are they illegal anyway? Is it because there is something wrong with the immigration policy? Do we really want people driving who can't follow the law in the first place. Senator Clinton couldn't answer it because she wants to please everybody all the time, and the only way to do that is not deal with the hard questions.
  • Why not, they need to drive like anyone else, and would be a danger on the road without one.At least they will be required to have car insurance. She is saying each state should make up their own laws regarding this issue.
  • No they should not receive driver's licenses, they are illegal! Illegals shouldn't be here in the first place. They are violating the laws of this country. Driver's licenses are a right reserved for U.S. citizens. Oh, and if it matters any, I am half Mexican on my mom's side.
  • No. They should be deported, forcefully if necessary. Hillary cannot answer a question. She has 20 stances for every problem. We should probably deport her.
  • I don't think they should. There are plenty of people who come here legally, if someone can't come here legally, then I probably don't want them in my society anyway. (I would assume they are criminals in their own country if they can't get here legally) I don't think it's complicated. If you break the law, you should lose rights. It's no different than if someone breaks into my home and then breaks their leg tripping on my furniture, they shouldn't be able to sue me. If you are here illegally, you shouldn't have the rights that the rest of us do.
  • Simply put, if they are still illegal... and you have to register with the government and apply to get a license... Why aren't they getting caught? If they are illegal, they are subject to the law. If the government doesn't know they are illegal and their paperwork is approved, then they get a license and now have yet another form of ID that makes them a little safer that is actually a legal form of ID and not forged. Anytime an illegal alien is found, they need to be addressed in a manner that is both legal and humane. I'm not bashing immigrants or aliens, I'm simply stating that illegal aliens or immigrants need to be aware of the consequences of their actions and willing to face them.
  • While I'm not endorsing the platform that illegal aliens should be eligable for drivers licenses, the issue is more complicated than it seems. Many illegal aliens (like citizens) are going to drive whether they're licensed or not. Licensing ensures they have been educated to the standards the state DMV sets, they are insured against accidents and that if involved in an accident, the other driver has recourse. Licensing also gets the person into a state system; doing so creates a record of the person's actions, history and wherabouts to some extent. So there's an argument for both sides.
