Was the Russian submarine Kursk ever brought to the surface?

    Yes. She was raised in October of 2001 and returned to port to be placed in drydock.

    118 Sailors, her entire crew, died aboard the Kursk. God rest their souls.

    Yes.

    The Kursk was raised on October of 2001 and brought into the Arctic port of Roslyakovo near Murmansk. Crew members on the barge that lifted the submarine from the Barents Sea floor and towed it to Roslyakovo lowered wreaths into the water to honour the Kursk's 118 dead.
