No. They have a great marketing team and will adapt whenever needed. Specific stores may go out of business but the chain in general will not.

The real question for me is that if I had the ability to put a company out of business, would I choose McDonald's or Microsoft?

No, and they recently opened up McCafe which is more of a fancy coffee shop, with very positive reviews. They seem to adapt to the current want/need pretty well.

Its relatively low prices, fast service, kid-friendly environment, and brand recognition are keeping it alive and thriving. Also, aggressive marketing is responsible for its rapid expansion into countries where its food is not traditional.
