In Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, what kind of guns did she use in the opening fight with the robot?

    Sorry to both of you. Both are incorrect. 1: muzzle breaks and flash supressors are all one piece not 2. 2: obviously built on the 1911 platform. The weapon is highly modified. But definnitly 1911 roots. They are quite simply highly modified Springfield armory 1911 . 45 caliber with a pro-match set up including your "supressors". What throws everyone off is the mag. Cap. . At the time of the movie high cap mags were not available for the .45 cal. All you could get out of a .45 was 10+1. There are at least 3times in the movie she fired 15 shots. Hollywierd trickery. 15 cap. Mag. Or double stack mags for .45 cal. Were made for the 1911 in 1997 by para ordinance. Now several companies are doing it. So one fella is right and wrong. A "supressor" is not nessessary as the 45 is a sub-sonic round. The "muzzle brake" wouldn't be needed either as she clearly uses a 5" barrell and being sub-sonic in that distance the recoil is very similar to a shorter much higher velosity 9mm.
    In addition 9mm rounds just do not penitrait. Try shooting one point blank at the windscreen of your car. Cracks, no penitration. 9 mm simply couldn't cause the kind of dammage her weapons did to metal. Long way around the barn, they are s.a. 1911s, all tricked out with a little hollywierd thrown in. But 2 great guesses

    45 auto mags by s&w with supressors and muzzle breaks. Sorry to my Celtic friend. They would be matchmasters and still would be 45. Cal.. Even a girl would not need supressors and muzzle breaks on a 9 mm.. Celtic was throun by the two tone apoearance.

    By the way I think her gun was also the type where you have to pull back on the top to reload/cock it, it it slide forward before you can fire it again.

    I think that CelticNomad is mostly correct. They really look like Heckler and Koch USP MATCH guns, however I agree with one of the others in that they are probably 15 round 45 ACP.

    The Heckler and Koch USP MATCH was chambered in a 45 ACP, according to Wikipedia...
