  • Here's one i wrote myself, it's about the end of the war. Within This Quiet Place As light comes near I see hope’s face, The guns have stopped the night is still, I am within this quiet place. The pain has gone on wings of grace Inside my heart less is the chill, As light comes near I see hopes face. The noise has left without a trace, I stand upon a silent hill, I am within this quiet place. The stars are free far out in space, I pray for no more blood to spill, As light comes near I see hopes face. The things I’ve seen I wish erased, I’d never look again to kill, I am within this quiet place. I think as I watch sunrise fill, There are some things you can’t replace As light comes near I see hopes face, I am within this quiet place.
  • Peace Peace the absence of War The presence of justice Freedom delivered on a B52 War the tool for Peace Tyrannical enforcer removed Evil personified, or reflected Peace the victim of who’s truth Democracy imposed equals Peace? The corridors of time littered With the bones and bodies Of those who had no choice Either way they were victim To the power of Peace imposers Think as we think, live as we live Do as we do, believe as we believe Then peace will be your prize No hidden motives in Caspian sea Neo-imperialist wrapped in flags What is the price of Peace Monopoly of resources Global market, personal gain Oil men in tall hats, crippled souls For where your heart is There also is your treasure Mammon strives for peace But not at all cost Just the market price Peace, peace they cry But there is no peace Where justice is blind.
  • There once was a war in Iraq/ We sent some troops over and they're never coming back/ We went to rob them of their natural resource/ Because the president is a war criminal of course.
  • This is by WH Auden. He's my favorite poet. Epitaph on a Tyrant Perfection, of a kind, was what he was after, And the poetry he invented was easy to understand; He knew human folly like the back of his hand, And was greatly interested in armies and fleets; When he laughed, respectable senators burst with laughter, And when he cried the little children died in the streets. Also, I remembered the quote, "To save your world you asked this man to die, could he see you now would he ask why?" though I can't remember what it came from. It is something he wrote, but I can't find my poetry book right now.
  • A couple of years back a British poet called David Harsent published a book called Legion. The first section is full of poems about an unnamed war. Here's one of them (with Harsent reading it as well): http://www.poetryarchive.org/poetryarchive/singlePoem.do?poemId=6414
  • The Game of War War is a game, It proves that the worst loss, Is a loss that was gained by a win, The blood is shed, The death is had, Utter depression, War happens over and over, It never stops, Peace is an illision, War is greedy, War has envy, War shows wriath, War enjoys gluttony, War gains luster, War provocks Pride, War is made by Sloth, Sins of 7 is what war represents, And what war is Represented by, Honesty is engolfed by deaf ears, Unfeeling hearts, And blind eyes, War is words without meaning, War is caused by love, War is countined by hate, War isn't good or evil, It is a star that has reached its limit, War doesn't care what, who, or where, War is everything, Power, strength, ability, War runs the world, Yet, War, Is simple, But it repeats its self, War is repetative, What is war but a game.
