A "calorie" is the amount of energy it takes to raise one liter of water one degree Centigrade. A "carbohydrate" is a type of sugar. They are not similar at all, save for the fact that too much of either will be stored in your body as fat.

Carbohydrates, fats, and protein are the only types of calories. Some people will tell you that alcohol is its own type of calorie, but alcohol is in fact a carbohydrate. EDIT: And basically, what you're asking is, "Can anyone tell me the difference between squares and rectangles? What are the differences, similarites" when the fact is that a square is a TPYE of rectangle. A carbohydrate is a type of calorie. All of the different types of calories perform different functions, but I'm not sure if you really want to know all that. I'll just say that the main function of carbs is quickly digested energy (calorie) that breaks down into glucose which you either expand as energy to keep you alive/move/etc or store as fat when there's extra left over. All calories are used for energy or otherwise stored as body fat. Then there's protein, the building blocks of muscle, and... there's a lot of biology to get into, lol.
