It depends. Although you may think you are expecting the unexpected, there will still be things happen that you did not consider, hence even when you expect the unexpected, something unexpected still can happen while you are busy expecting the unexpected. So while you may make the unexpected expected, the unexpected can still hit you even when you expect it... I guess that's why they call it the unexpected.

Yes, because you are expecting the unexpected when the unexpected does occurr then it is not unexpected because that is precicely what you expected!! there is no range to the unexpected for example; bob is expecting the unexpected then out of nowhere an alien is beamed down to earth in front of him, kicks him in the crouch, then beams back up. I believe this screnario falls into the unexpected category, and as our friend bob was expecting the unexpected, he was able to make the unexpected expected
