Help answer this question below.
This is more than likely sun damage. This area tends to darken and stay darker when exposed to the sun, especially if you wear sunglasses as this is the area that your sunglasses reflect on. Chemical peel and/or laser treatments may be the best option
Another medical question :)
We have no way of knowing what your health is, including the state of your vitamin levels and if you may or may not have any deficiency.
If you are concerned, go see a doctor since they are the only qualified people to test you, examine your skin, etc. We could guess, but that could do you much more harm than good on medical questions.
Could be Iron deficiency. Check your hemoglobin.

You're reading My lips and the surrounding area looks dark. Am I deficient in any vitamins, and is there any home remedy?

And you are a doctor? What if this person has one of several other diseases of problems that needs medical atttention? It's amazing to me when a doctor would not even diagnose or prescribe for someone online based on this kind of question, some people on AB think it is a responsible and ethical thing to do.

Are you? I think people on here are asking for advice from people who may have had similar experiences, not from people who have PhD's. I assume they can figure out a trip to the Dr. if they deem it necessary. So to answer your question, no, I am not a Dr., but I have had sun damage as described above. You post this comment on practically every post..why? I neither diagnosed or prescribed something "online" as per your suggestion. If this indidvidual were to attend at a dermatologist for a consultation they would perhaps receive one of the above. Neither of my suggestions were home remedies. I believe you need to give the posters on here a little more credit and IQ points.

" I think people on here are asking for advice from people who may have had similar experiences, not from people who have PhD's " i did join this site just for casual discussions and for advices from people who might have experienced similar problems, but i do think about someone's answer to my question.

I agree obrein, I also consider someone's answer as I wouldn't post a question/comment if I weren't seeking it. This site is very useful; however, as a user, it is up to you to use your own best judgement when digesting the information provided.
