I don't know what kind of advice you're looking for.
I would get all the necessary connections in order to your sound card from the record player. Then I would use Audacity to record the music in raw .wav form. Then I would adjust the sound as needed. Then burn to CD. Ta-da.
To get good quality audio into your computer you need a decent soundcard!

Also as stated you will also need to convert the phono level signal to a line level using a pre-amp.
