I started a C corporation and now I want to close it. The corporation's value is less than the equity I originally put into the corporation. If I shut down the corporation, what are the tax consequences for me as the sole shareholder?

Can I deduct my losses as a capital loss? I bought an old house, lived in it about one year, fixed it up and now it looks like I will lose, not make money on it. Is there a tax deduction here?
