The belief of the Jehovahs witnesses is that the rest of the people will be resurrected to life on Earth. They base this on the scriptures which say the meek will inherit the earth, and the righteous are the ones who will be left over in it. (Psalm 37:11, Proverbs 2:21) Also a verse says that God "did not create it [the Earth] simply for nothing, who formed it even to be inhabited", compared with verses that say Gods will is always accomplished, "my word that goes forth from my mouth will prove to be. It will not return to me without results, but it will certainly do that in which I have delighted, and it will have certain success in that for which I have sent it." (Isaiah 45:18-19, Isaiah 55:10-11) The belief that there are two different groups of people who will be resurrected to life is based in part on a scripture which says “And I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; those also I must bring, and they will listen to my voice, and they will become one flock, one shepherd." Compared to the verse which says “Have no fear, little flock, because YOUR Father has approved of giving YOU the kingdom", it can be inferred that the "little flock" will inherit the heavenly kingdom, and minister to the large flock. (Luke 12:32; John 10:16) The identities are further explained in Revelations where it says of the little flock "I heard the number of those who were sealed, a hundred and forty-four thousand",(Revelation 7:4), then very closely following the statement that there is a definite number it says there is a "great crowd, which no man was able to number, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues." (Revelation 7:9) Compare this again to Luke 12:32 and John 10:16. These could not be metaphorical or symbolic, there are actually two flocks, a little one, and another one.

the bible teaches that only 144,000 will go to heaven. this teaching is not conjured up by Jehovah's Witnesses. mankind was created for earth. we are not equipped to go to heaven. this is why when man has stepped out of earth's atmosphere, man has had to take special equipment to survive at least for a few days in such an environment. those that are bound for heavenly life, will go for a purpose. revelation 5:10 says:"and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over the earth." these that are to rule over earth, obviously will rule over mankind. therefore, the rest of mankind has the prospect of living on earth, cleansed of all wickedness. gone soon will be this system of things, replaced by the righteous government composed of the now reigning King Jesus Christ and his administration of 144,000 kings and priests. (ephesians 1:9,10)

The Jehovah's Witnesses also believe in Annihilationism. That the unbelievers will not go to hell, but rather will be destroyed completely upon judgement.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begoten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. If more than 144,000 believeth in Christ then more than 144,000 will have everlasting life.

Well, that's what they believe, but that's all it is-- a "belief." They have no way to demonstrate and support this belief/claim because it doesn't have a field of inquiring thereby. As far as we "KNOW" with absolute certainty, is that the "rest of us"--same as "JW"--are going to have our dead body either cremated, or burried 6ft deep into the ground. That's something we can absolutely know because it can be proved and demostrated. This is indeed a "fact" that we all can bear witnees of and doesn't need a "belief" or speculation.

the bible indicates that most of mankind will one day live on earth forever. the premise that only 144,000 ascend to heaven can perphaps be better understood when we take into account that only a handful govern the masses in any one country. who can refute this? what is difficult to understand that only a few are in political power and in charge in washington d.c.? as an example. this is a typical government administration. so goes for those that go to heaven. the bible says in revelation that they are only 144,000 that will rule over mankind and earth.(revelation 5:10)the letter to the ephesians 1:9,10 says: "in that, he made known to us the sacred secret of his will. it is according to his good pleasure which he purposed in himself. for an administration at the full limit of the appointed times, namely, to gather all things together again in the Christ, the things in the heavens and the things on the earth, yes, in him," therefore, the erronous comments that witnesses believe that only 144,000 will be saved is totally false.
