What's the most gruesome death you've ever read or heard about?

an old man died in the bath tub with a water heater on. it boiled him for two weeks, and when he was found, there was nothing but soupy muck to clean up.

I was in the Florida Keys on vacation and my best friend was dating a police officer there. We were all going to Key West when the officer got a call that a "floater" had washed ashore. That was the first dead body I ever saw in person....and I still have nightmares from the sight. There were still crabs on the body eating, and it was so bloated and discolored. The person was a cuban refugee who had drowned while trying to get to America.

Some guy got ripped to shreds by a lion and some other guy being smashed by a giant boulder.

I have heard of two that were really bad. A guy fell into a chemical vat at a factory and a woman was inside of a giant mixing machine to blend paint components and someone turned the machine on while she was inside cleaning it.

well on snopes theres an article about someone who was cut in half by hitting a pole at high speed on a motorbike. WARNING - Not for the faint of heart !!

Not the most gruesome, but:
I was about 12-14 years old and was at a car showroom with my dad, while we were there a man came running and screaming like you would not imagine onto teh forecourt, on fire. I remember it like it was yesterday, i can see it in slow motion, i was standing less than 10 feet away looking at his face, i could see his features melting as his face was literally on fire. The worst part was the noise the man was making as people desperately tried to douse the flames. He was screaming in such a primitive way it was horrific.
His clothes had burnt off him, his hair had frazzled and his skin had melted all on his face.

Here are some of the ones I have heard of:

Hypatia was a notable woman from Alexandria. She was murdered by a Christian mob considering her a witch. They had her skin ripped off with oysters and clams etc. and then burned whatever remained while she was still alive.

Another is:

Valerian was a noble Roman Emperor who was subjected to many insults by his captors prior to his death. After some period Valerian was skinned alive and his skin was stuffed with straw and preserved as a trophy.

Another one:

Inalchuq was the Governor of Qtrar in the Khwarezmian Empire. Before his death he was captured by Mongols and molten silver was poured into his eyes, ears and throat.

And Another:

György Dózsa was captured in a battle he was forced to sit on a heated iron throne having a heated iron crown on his head and a heated sceptre in his hand. Then his partially roasted body was eaten by six of his fellow rebels who had been starved for a week before, while he was still alive.

Those are some of the worst I have read about.

I had read a book that was about criminal profiling(john douglas). It reviewed all types of murders. A young woman went for a jog at a military camp-one of the safest places and was abducted by a man who was married to a woman that was also on the military base. What he had done was sexually assaulted this victim and had shoved a tree branch into her Va***a so far up that it had punctured her lung. Apparently the female victim did not die right away. I don't know how any human being could have done such a thing. I cannot imagine what was going on in her mind in her final moments. I cannot even imagine how her family could have felt knowing that there are real life monsters in this world. The second most gruesome would be the Black Dahlia.

The lady who got flattened by an empty 3 locomotive coal train whilst crossing a railroad track when the gates and warning bells/lights were active not only was that horrible it blocked traffic for 5 hours

i work with crime scene investigations, so ive seen and heard of a whole lot. the one that affected me the most was the sick bitch who drowned all of her kids in the tub, one at a time. I read that at least the oldest boy fought her very hard and begged for his life.

Driving down Airline Highway, in Metairie, Louisiana. Apparently, the story I read in the paper the next day after driving by, claimed that a man had been trying unsuccessfully to commit suicide by stepping out in front of cars, which swerved to miss him.

Unsuccessfully, that is, until the Semi Truck came roaring down the road, and hit him. It was horrid, there were body parts (literally just "parts" of him all over the road, no real corpse to speak of.

This sight haunts me still.

Another gruesome death I saw, was a man who was driving his van, too fast, and hit the car in front of him...the van flipped and the man was thrown from his van...Unfortunately landing on the front of his skull, on the pavement, just before the car coming behind him...couldn't stop quick enough and hit him, throwing him another 10 feet or so. Sadly he was dead by the time the paramedics arrived.

I don't wish "seeing" this sort of thing on anyone. I now have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder...due to them.

I've watched a may die are a very brutal car accident. He was ran off the road, in a ditch on its side, with a telephone pole that took off the hood of his car, and the pole was across his belly. He survived for a touch, and slowly faded away. Nothing anybody could do to help, and many just stood there in silence as his last breaths were drawn. This was well over 10 years ago, and still haunts my visions on occasion.

I remember watching a Tarzan movie, where some African natives would take their captured enemies, tie them between two "bent down" (and secured-with-ropes) trees, then use a two machetes to simultaneously release the trees, so they would "spring back" to their original, upright positions.

When the trees snapped back to their original, upright positions, the native who had been tied between them (left leg and left arm to one tree; right leg and right arm to the other) was literally "torn in half."

The film editor dubbed in very convincing "tearing noises," plus the sounds of men screaming in agony.

Even though I knew that it wasn't real, of course, I had nightmares about it for months afterwards.

The most gruesome death I ever saw was a 20something year old man who decided to end his life by stepping out onto an expressway. He was hit by one car, then another, and was eventually flipped airborn onto oncoming traffic on the other side of the expressway, over the 5' cement divider, where he was hit by several more cars. I'll spare you the details, but essentially, all we could really say about him after what was left was that he had dark brown hair. The body was broken worse than anything I will ever see again, and parts were everywhere. +5

I did not see these personally, meaning live but I did see photos after the fact as I was handling each case. One guy was squished between two 18 wheelers. Not pretty. The other was a dacapitation, body still in the car, head yards away, eyes still wide open. Saw a couple bad burn ones too.

Dying unhappy would be the most gruesome thing ever.

There was a recent case of a couple of yokels involved in a hate crime, who dragged a black man behind their truck. The were "only trying to scare him", so they tied his feet with rope and drove off. By the time they figured they had put some fear into him he had lost an arm, a good deal of flesh, oh, and his head.

The most disturbing and shockingly haunting story was in a book by Aphrodite Jones about the group of young girls (14-17 I think) that took a young child, 12 years old and beat, tortured and burned her alive and it took all night. This poor little kid was in a trunk of a car bleeding and conscious while they continually pulled her out and tortured her some more. They bashed her head in, she lived, they stabbed and kicked her and set her on fire twice. It was because of a jealous lover's quarrel between one girl and another girl that was involved with this 12 year old. The whole thing is just filled with dysfunctional creepiness.

last night i was watching a tv show on edison / westinghouse and their fight for supremacy of AC / DC current. they showed on tv an elephant from that time period that was electrocuted with DC current. all for the sake of show. that was wrong.

When he smashed it, he got glass shard on his hand, and from the chest to all down is penis, unluckily he got a shard inside of his urethra. I was watching an execution video were this guy had a rusty dull (but still sharp) knife, he started to cut this guys head off with it, the guys neck popped like a cherry, there was a massive pool of blood before he even reached his wind pipe, you can still hear the man screaming, about 2 1/2 minutes into it the mans screams were starting to get muddled and gargly from the blood entering his wind pipe, finally his screams turned into just air hissing slowly, with his head 90% off he was still alive because his spinal cord was still intact, after his head was off and he was dead his body began to convulse heavily in shock, with out his head the man vomited through his neck (with no head) his stumach muscles squeezed really tightly and he was stuck in a scary position, his fingers and arms poped out of their sockts because of the massive muscle convultion.


That is the most grusome death.

try seeing 30 or so people stripped naked out in the street with their genitals cut off and shoved in their mouths. The children using these bodies as trampolines while laughing and all you can see is ribs and guts that have made its way threw the skin, and the sound of kids laughter and bone crunching in the air.

The guy who attack some other guy on the greyhound bus. He stab him then cut off his head. Also ate part of his body..GROSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

I just missed seeing a guy get crushed to death between a railroad car and a steel plate. The guys who found him had nightmares for years.

There was an artical in the paper a while ago about these people who paid to go on this sort of 'adventure boat ride'.....they even had some-one filim it.
They were all laughing and joking when they were pulled into a hydro-electric dam and it was all caught on video by some unlucky camera-man.

The guy that got cut in half when a semi truck ran over his torso. He had been working under his car in a parking lot. Ewwww.

In my town about 5 years ago, a women with three children got a babysitter and went out for the night. In the middle of the night a fire started but none of the chldren nor the babysitter got out alive. When they found the youngest child (18 months) his head was literally fused to the crib as a result of the intense heat. That is the most horrible story I have ever heard in my life and it still gives me chills thinking about it.
