  • Yes all the time. It tastes the same as bought stuff, is easy to make and costs about 1/3 as much.
  • No. I made my own dressing for a Caesar salad one time using raw eggs and it led to diarrhea for everyone. You need to use raw eggs to make your own mayo - so be careful.
  • I do quite often. It was the way I was raised. It just tastes better and I can add as much mustard as I want or some lemon and make it just right for what I want to use it. I have never worried about the eggs as we usually have eggs from our own chickens.
  • yes!!! mix one egg yolk, 1/2tsp salt, 1/4 tsp dry mustard and a pinch of cayenne pepper in a bowl... add 1TB of malt vinegar or lemon juice. very gradually add 1c canola oil, beating constantly with a whisk or beater. as mixture begins to combine add remaining oil in a fine stream while beating.. if mixture is too thick, add more vinegar... makes about one cup :) hope you like it
