I've been on the pill for over 4 years. 6 weeks ago I had sex. I may have been late taking some pills around then. I started spotting 2 weeks before my period, and spotted when I was supposed to get my period (always have a normal period). Am i pregnant?

• I have not taken a test out of sheer disbelief that i can be pregnant and on BC.

• It's called 99.8% effective for a reason.
  and it's only 95% effective if you miss a pill or take one late.
  .
  5% is a BIG margin of error.

• I actually didn't realize that being late effected the pill that much. I was told that if you miss 3 pills you are at risk for starting ovulation; that even if the sperm makes it to the egg, the endometrium wont be allow it to implant. Though I didnt miss 3 pills, it did enough to make me spot and not have an actual period (just to clarify, the spotting was light enough to not need a tampon, and brown not red).
  
  I guess I need to suck it up and test.

• If you've been on the pill for 4 years, you should have read the insert at least once... it clearly explains the margin of error.
  .
  The simple fact is, if you have sex, you run the risk of getting pregnant. BCPs or not.
