why is the expository essay similar with the business communication essay?

(off the top of my head) An essay is a comprehensive examination/analysis/discussion of a particular subject. Business communications are similar, as members of an organisation need information about their internal and external environments to make good business decisions. However, Business Communications are normally very breif, so that they may be utilized in decision making quickly, with little waste of time. Essays tend to take their time a bit more, to get every perspective and component of their point accross. Business reports can do the same, but reports tha do this will often have an "Executive Summary" at the begginning, essentially a condensed version of the report that the executive who is pressed for time may read and get an adequate grasp of the subject matter. Facts play a very important part of all communitcations and essays; They are the source of all opinion. Depending on the purpose and design of the essay, Opinion may form a greater or lesser part of the content. For example, an essay on the breeding cycles of sub-saharan beetle species is going to be almost exclusively fact based, while an essay on feminism in the context of 18th century female nobility is going to be a bit more opinion filled.
