  • Funny story about that kind of thing. I knew a guy who had an old (1949) pickup truck that sat beside his garage. He worked on it from time to time, sat there for a year or two. One day he was working on it and the neighbor came over to chat about this and that. After about 20 minutes the neighbor went off on him about the old truck sitting there all the time. He said he would be glad when the damn thing was done, was getting tired of looking at it. Well, after a couple days thinking on this the guy goes out and buys this ugly ass old blue school bus. Had it towed to his house and parked it right by the property line, blocking the offended neighbors veiw of the old truck.
  • I worked in the government code department, and let me say, we can't STAND people that make complaints like this. This is a free country. If you want to build a shack, we have codes you have to follow. If you follow the codes, you're good. If you don't want to look at a shack, I suggest you move into a deed-restricted community with rules against ugly shacks being erected in one's backyard.
  • My neighbor has about 5 of those for his plants. My dad has called the HOA multiple times and nothing has happened even though it ISN'T allowed.
  • Just wait until he converts it to living quarters and charges rent. You then might have a case.
  • Suing is a waste of your time. There is nothing to sue him over. It is perfectly legal for him to build whatever he wants as long as he doesn't violate code. And just because you don't like it or you think it will lower your property values, that isn't enough for a suit. You need laws broken, codes violated. Grow a tree or some vines so you won't have to look at it so much.
  • Quit your snivelling. It won't lower your property value and you won't lose money. As far as I'm concerned you are lowering his property values by being a pain in the ass neighbor.
