Should people be judged by the company they keep? Do you do this?

It does give you an idea of what company they like to keep. In some cases, this would be wise so yes. If someone I know is in the company of some mean looking thugs, I would not be enthusiastic to get friendly.

No. I have many different groups of friends that are very different to each other. Some educated. Some not. Some rich. Some poor. I get along with all of them. Each has something different to offer.

Absolutely. The people that you keep in your company reflect various levels of your own personality. If you keep people around who are drunken idiots, to me it either indicates that you have very little self-respect, or are a drunken idiot yourself. There are consequences for your own actions, as well as the company you keep. And yes, I do this.
